Pastor Chris Teaches How Jesus Gained the Kingdom
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome shared a powerful message about how Jesus Christ obtained the Kingdom — not through force or inheritance, but through obedience. Drawing from Philippians 2:8–11, he explained that obedience is one of the greatest spiritual principles in the Kingdom of God, and it remains the key to divine exaltation.
Pastor Chris: Jesus Gained the Kingdom Through Obedience
According to Pastor Chris, spiritual laws operate differently from earthly systems. “In the spirit, the laws are different from this world,” he said. “The first Adam lost the Kingdom through disobedience, but the second and last Adam — Jesus — gained it back through obedience.”
He reminded believers that the fall of man in the Garden of Eden was not just about eating forbidden fruit, but about rebellion against divine order. “If man could lose the Kingdom by disobedience, then man could also gain it by obedience,” Pastor Chris explained.
Reading from Philippians 2:8, he continued: “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” He emphasized that Jesus’ humility and obedience, even in suffering, became the foundation for His exaltation.
Obedience Brings Promotion in the Spirit
Pastor Chris explained that obedience is not weakness — it is strength in the Spirit. “When you walk in obedience to God’s Word, you align yourself with divine authority,” he said. “And God always responds to obedience.”
Referring to Philippians 2:9, Pastor Chris highlighted that God exalted Jesus and gave Him a name above every name because of His obedience. “He obtained the Kingdom by obedience,” he said. “That is why every knee must bow — in heaven, on earth, and under the earth — at the name of Jesus.”
In the same way, he encouraged believers to live by this spiritual law. “If you will follow God’s instructions, even when they don’t make sense to the human mind, you will be exalted,” he said. “Disobedience brings loss, but obedience brings promotion.”
The Example of Jesus: Humility and Submission
Pastor Chris also spoke about the humility of Jesus, who, though He was God, chose to become man in order to fulfill the will of the Father. “Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself. He didn’t struggle with God’s plan. He submitted completely.”
He explained that many people lose blessings because they insist on doing things their own way. “Some are too proud to submit to the Spirit,” Pastor Chris said. “They follow their minds, not the Word. And because of that, they lose too much.”
In contrast, Jesus’ life shows that true greatness is born from humility. “Nothing was going to make Him rebellious against God. He was obedient unto death — that is, even to the point of the cross.”
Pastor Chris: Obedience Is the Key to Spiritual Authority
Pastor Chris taught that God’s Kingdom operates on order and structure. “God has a system,” he said. “He has a divine structure, and when you understand it, you will function in dominion.”
He emphasized that obedience to the Spirit is not optional for a believer. “You don’t walk by your head or your feelings,” Pastor Chris said. “A thousand times no! You walk in the light of God’s Word.”
Through obedience, believers can take possession of their inheritance in Christ and manifest the authority God has given them. “Every time you respond to God in obedience, you are building spiritual authority in your life,” he said. “You are being prepared for higher responsibility in the Kingdom.”
Pastor Chris: God Responds to Obedience
The climax of Jesus’ obedience was His exaltation. “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him,” Pastor Chris read aloud. “Because Jesus obeyed completely, God gave Him the highest title, the highest name, and the highest honor.”
He explained that obedience always provokes a divine response. “When you follow God’s Word with your heart, the result is glory. God responds to obedience with promotion, expansion, and influence.”
He encouraged every believer to see obedience not as a restriction, but as a pathway to greatness. “In the realm of the Spirit,” he said, “obedience is a blessing. It positions you for God’s best.”
Living by the Law of Obedience
As Pastor Chris concluded his message, he reminded the congregation that the same law that exalted Jesus still works today. “Obedience brought Jesus to the highest throne,” he said. “And obedience will take you to your place of glory.”
By choosing to follow God’s instructions, believers activate the same power that raised Christ. “In this Kingdom, we don’t rise by ambition; we rise by submission”.
He urged the LoveWorld Nation to cultivate the habit of listening to the Spirit, yielding to divine direction, and trusting that obedience always leads to victory. “Jesus obtained the Kingdom by obedience,” he said. “And if you will do the same, you will reign with Him.”
