Pastor Chris on Why Challenges Cannot Stop You

A look into Pastor Chris’ teaching on our identity, inheritance, and the eternal glory awaiting God’s children.

During a recent message, Pastor Chris taught on one of the most profound subjects in the New Testament: the believer’s identity and the glory prepared for God’s children. He opened the Scriptures with clarity, drawing attention to the powerful words in Romans 8 and 2 Corinthians 4. These passages reveal who we are in Christ and what lies ahead for us.

His teaching brought perspective, strength, and hope. It reminded the global audience that the Christian life does not end with present challenges. There is more. Much more.

Pastor Chris on Our Identity as God’s Children

In Romans 8:16, the Apostle Paul writes, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.”
Pastor Chris explained that this is more than a comforting statement. It is a spiritual reality. The Holy Spirit gives us an inner knowing that we belong to God. This understanding shapes how we see life, how we respond to difficulties, and how we build our expectations.

He highlighted verse 17: “If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.”
This is one of the greatest revelations of the Christian faith. We are not only forgiven. We are not only saved. We are heirs. And not ordinary heirs—we share inheritance with Christ Himself. The message described this as “huge,” because it changes everything about how we understand our position in God’s Kingdom.

To be joint heirs means that whatever belongs to Christ belongs to us. His victory, His authority, His glory—all shared with the believer. And this inheritance is not only for the future. It starts now, as we walk in His life and power.

Present Challenges and Eternal Glory

When speaking about suffering, Pastor Chris reminded listeners that Paul did not deny the reality of challenges. But he called them “light afflictions.” This was remarkable because Paul faced persecution, imprisonment, and hardship during his ministry. Yet he still described those experiences as brief and small compared to the eternal glory ahead.

Romans 8:18 says, “The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
The man of God emphasized the phrase “not worthy to be compared.” Present troubles cannot stand on the same scale as God’s glory. They do not have the same weight. They do not have the same measure.

He also referenced 2 Corinthians 4:16–17, where Paul wrote, “The outward man perishes, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
This means that while the physical body may grow tired, the inner man—the real you—is strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Daily. Continually.

Pastor Chris explained that afflictions, when faced with faith, produce an “eternal weight of glory.” They work for us. They prepare us. They position us for what God is building within us. The glory is not temporary. It is eternal.

Looking Beyond What We See

One of the highlights of the message was Paul’s instruction:
“We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.”
This is not denial. It is spiritual focus.

Pastor Chris taught that the things we see—circumstances, pressures, limitations—are temporal. They are subject to change. But the unseen realities of God’s Word are eternal. What God has spoken cannot fade. What He has given us in Christ cannot be taken away.

He explained that focusing on the unseen does not remove us from the world. Instead, it gives us the right perspective to navigate life with faith. When challenges come, the believer remembers that the Word is final, and the glory is greater than the trouble.

The message encouraged Christians to lift their eyes above the temporary and fix their hearts on the eternal. This is the mindset of someone who knows they are a joint heir with Christ.

Pastor Chris on Living With Eternal Perspective

Pastor Chris reminded the audience that there is more to life than what can be measured in time. When believers understand their identity and inheritance, they stop living by what they see. They begin to make decisions based on the Word. They cultivate patience, strength, and courage.

This eternal perspective shapes daily life. It gives meaning to service, prayer, and devotion. It empowers believers to keep going, no matter what they face. Because the glory ahead outweighs every temporary challenge.

And this glory is not only waiting for us. It is already working in us. The Spirit renews us day by day.
